All wooden parts have been treated exclusively with biological products. Everything was professionally carried out by local specialist companies. A staircase from the hallway leads to the basement, which houses the heating system, oil tanks, and washing machine. The oil-fired heating system in the basement is a Viessmann model from 1990, is fully functional, and is regularly maintained by a chimney sweep. On the ground floor, there is also a brick-built wood-burning stove in the living room. A biological wastewater treatment system handles the sewage. The garden is designed in a natural style, meaning it requires very little maintenance.
